On March 10, 2010, an electrical fire occurred in Well’s Fargo bank branch, damaging the glorious Italian marble lined walls and elaborate gold leaf ceilings. SSH Management was challenged with the job of restoring a historic 1920’s bank branch to its pre-loss condition.
SSH Management assembled a team of experts from throughout the country. These experts had the task of cleaning and polishing the marble, repainting and gilding the ceiling, re-fabricating 1920’s Art Deco brass light fixtures and reconstruction gold gilding stain glass windows. SSH chose not to utilize an adjuster to manage this claim. Instead, they used their in-house skills to negotiate with vendors and the insurance carrier to bring this project to closure. During the project it was necessary to maintain an operating bank branch. This was accomplished with success by the installation of a scaffold system that protected guests while allowing contractors to work.
Negative pressure air movement machines were installed so there would be no irritating odors while the work was being performed.
SSH was able to manage one of the largest historical restoration projects in the country for 2010, while maintaining a positive relationship with the bank, who needed to keep the branch operating during the renovation process.Download Case Study PDF
